Sprenger to host
education forum
State Representative Sherrie
Sprenger will host an education
forum with Oregon's Chief Educa-
tion Officer Rudy Crew at 7 p.m.
Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the Lebanon
School District Office's board-
room.
This forum is being held to
inform and facilitate conversation
between Crew and parents, teach-
ers and others who are interested
in education. Participants will have
an opportunity to exchange ideas
and to help shape the conversation
about learning in their community.

Diabetes seminar
at LBCC Nov. 17
A free Diabetes Symposium
will be held at Linn-Benton Com-
munity College from 7:30 a.m. to
12:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, in
the Commons cafeteria, second
floor Calapooia Center, 6500 Pa-
cific Blvd. SW., Albany.
Keynote speakers include Dr.
Sarah Swarts with Samaritan In-
ternal Medicine; Jay Hewitt, an
athlete who became the first per-
son with diabetes to qualify for the
U.S. National Triathlon team; and
Monica Whipple, certified Arthritis
Foundation insructor.
Pre-registration is encouraged.

Turkey Bingo will be held at
Sweet Home High School Caf-
eteria on Nov. 17 from 6 p.m. to 9
p.m. with doors open at 5:30 p.m.

Club, there will be door prizes and
raffle drawings. All ages welcome.

Meals on Wheels
weekly menu
Meals on Wheels, also known
as Your Table or Ours, offers lunch
at the Sweet Home Community
Center to seniors over 60 at noon on
Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
The Senior Center serves a
separate lunch on Wednesdays.
First-time diners are invited to
come in and have a free lunch to
give it a try.
Suggested donation is $3.50.
All meals are served with milk, cof-
fee or tea upon request and diabetic
desserts are available on request.
The lunch menu on Friday,
Nov. 9, is hot turkey or pork loaf
sandwich on wheat bread, with gra-
vy, whipped potatoes, whole kernel
corn and fresh orange.
No meal will be served Mon-
day, Nov. 12, due to Veterans Day.
The menu for Tuesday, Nov.
13, is chicken and dumplings or
spaghetti with meat sauce and a gar-
lic roll, cut green beans, pineapple
slaw and peanut butter bar.
