Ivan Lee Harpole, 67, of Sweet
Home died June 17, 2012.
He was born Jan. 19, i945 in
Junction City, where he grew up,
the youngest of eight children.
He went to work for Georgia
Pacific right after high school and
retired from Trees, Inc. His gift of
gab and love of the outdoors made
him very special.
Mr. Harpole had been a long-
time resident of the Sweet Home
area.
He is survived by his wife, two
daughters, two brothers and two
sisters.

Goodies for troops
Nancy ~eesecker's third-grade class at Hawthorne School has been cor-
responding with deployed Air Force Capt. Tyler Tipton, Keesecker's son-
in-law. They have been writing letters weekly and dedicated a special
patriotic song which was videoed and sent to Tyler and his squadron in
Afghanistan. The class decided to send a care package from their class-
room. Displayed here are all of the items that the class has collected for
Tyler and his squadron, and the children in the class.

"I wanted to get more involved
in the community, have a chance
to get scholarship money and be a
princess," Johnson said about the
Sportsman's Holiday Court.
She said her father has been
the biggest influence on her life.
"From the time I was a baby,
him and I were so close, and he's
taught me everything I know,"
Johnson said.
She plans to graduate with an
enhanced high school diploma and
then attend Linn-Benton Commu-
nity College for two years through
the Access College Today program
before switching to Oregon State
University.
