Sweet Home Fire and Ambulance District respond- ed to a grass fire near the old mill site at the east end of Green River Road, off Clark Mill Road at about 3 p.m. on May 9. The fire started two days after a resident had burned a debris pile. Calderwood said. The fire had smoldered unde- tected during those two days and then flared up.
