The Seychelles are located in the Indian Ocean. near the equator, 800 miles off the east coast of Africa and are untque because they are composed of granite. Aldabra is an undisturbed area of scrub land inhabited by tortoises, sea turtles, land crabs, bats and birds. It can only be accessed by boat. There is no fresh water and tourist facilities do not exist and few people visit the scrub. The area has been in the news recently due to Somali pirate activity.
