Organizers said the event raised approximately $3,500. The Point and All Star Pizza restaurants donated part of their proceeds on Saturday and A& W is planning to do the same on Monday, March 26,from 5 to 8p.m. An account is being set up this week at Linn-Co Federal Savings under Nikky Long's name for thosewho want to donate to help Nikky financially. Organizers said I01 runners participated in the event, which was simply a fun runwalk and therefore wasn't timed or run as a competition. Huskiettes DanceDrill Exhibition The Sweet Home High School Huskiettes dancedrill team held its annual Home Exhibition Monday, March 12, to a packed house at the Main Gym, which included performances by dancers from Sweet Home Junior High, Sole Expressions of Albany and Cascade Performing Arts of Lebanon. Above, Huskiettes Captain Emily Conrad performs the routine she learned to compete in the DanceDrill All-State Competition in January. Results of that competition will be announced this week as the team goes to the OSAA State 4A Dance and Drill Competition Wednesday and Thursday, March 14-15, at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Portland. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. with performances beginning at 5. Tickets are $15. Huskiettes members perform their state competition routine, set to "Perfect to Me." Team members are Emily Conrad, Laura Mauer, Yoshiko Tomono, Crystal Crites, Shalese Mancuso, Karese Mancuso, Leticia Virgen, Cathy Cheshire and Andrea Wilcox. Having recruited some help from the masses, Huskiettes members per- form a routine with some "Huskies," who clearly had undergone a crash course in dancedrill prior to the exhibition.
