After all, it was only telling you the truth and the truth is: Weight loss is hard. It has its ups and it has its downs. Literally. The Lose for Life weight loss team felt the pain of the "ups" this week as nearly half of them gained weight. Let's be real. At eight weeks into the program, some are getting tired of counting every calorie. Some are getting tired of "missing out" on what we call the "eating celebrations." Birthdays, week- end get-togethers, outings with friends - seems like they're all eating celebrations when you aredieting. And some are just plain tired of what seems like a lack of progress. But they stick with it because they know it is worth it! A few are struggling with outside influences that make weight loss difficult. Certain medications, medical conditions, crazy life schedules and stress can be major stumbling blocks to your progress. Does this sound like you or are you stuck with the "comfort food campers" who just can't seem to make that total life change and give up the things that are sweetly killing you? Yes, I know. "Killing" is such a drastic word. So let's liken your poor health choices to the frog-in-the-slowly-boiling-water scenario. Instead, it might help if you knew that you are robbing yourself of your best life possible. You know, the part before the big "D". Everyone we've ever known who's seriously tried a healthy eating and exercise program has realized how much better they feel, physically and emotionally. And when they fall off the "healthy wagon" they notice the difference and want to get back on! Don't you want this for yourself? If not, it's probably because you've never experienced how good it is. We challenge you to try it. Thanks to your local business community, especially the eateries, you have more support right here in your home town than ever. So what are you waiting for?
